Police bag cannabis worth $375,000
CANNABIS with an estimated street value of around $375,000 was found in a major drugs bust in Sugarloaf on Monday.
Twelve search warrants were executed which located 15 kilograms of cannabis, and a 50-year-old man was charged with possession.
Detective Sergeant Damian Grace, officer in charge of Stanthorpe detectives, said a search on a rural residential property about 15km from Stanthorpe at 9am on Monday resulted in the drug find.
Officers were involved from the Stanthorpe and Warwick police districts and the state drug investigation unit.
“As a result of the execution of a warrant we located a large amount of leaf and seed,” Sgt Grace said.
The man was charged with possession of cannabis, producing a dangerous drug and posses anything used in the commission of a crime.
He is due to appear in the Stanthorpe Magistrates Court on August 9.
