Community at 'heart' of the job

NEW branch manager at Heritage Bank Stanthorpe, Teneil Zahner, is keen to support her community while also helping customers achieve their financial ambitions.

Ms Zahner said she was looking forward to working with the team to help customers achieve their short- and long-term financial goals, and was also planning on being an active member in the community and "getting hands-on with local events and involved in fundraising activities”.

"I'm excited to be a new face in the branch and look forward to getting to know our customers,” she said.

With six years of financial services experience, Ms Zahner is stepping into the position after the retirement of long-serving branch manager Sonya Casley.

Ms Zahner said she was at home in Stanthorpe and had lived in the town with her husband and young daughter for the past six years.

"I love Stanthorpe and the way in which I have witnessed the community band together to support and help each other. They celebrate each others successes and everyone comes together to help each other when needed.

"Stanthorpe has a fantastic small-town community feel and I'm a big fan of the cold weather.

"I was searching for an opportunity to work here as I was commuting to Warwick each day. I really enjoy helping people and was hoping to find an organisation that focuses on putting people first.”

Ms Zahner said that Heritage - which was established in regional Queensland in 1875 and now has 61 branches across the state - was different to large banks because it was owned by its customers which "means we focus on people rather than profits”.

"We're passionate about helping people so it's really important for us to stay connected to our customers. Supporting local communities is at the heart of everything we do.

"I'm really looking forward to building on and injecting new energy into the personalised approach the team is known for.”
