Rugby League: One lucky local boy is now calling a much-desired possession his very own.
Eight-year-old Thane Hills was thrilled when he won a Brisbane Broncos jersey in a Junior Rugby League raffle.
The jersey was signed by the Broncos players.
It was donated by Queensland Country Credit Union Stanthorpe branch manager Alan Cameron.
Mr Cameron said the Broncos coach Wayne Bennett organised for the jersey to be signed.
"Wayne Bennett walked around the field to get the signatures from the players,” he said.
"Wayne is really good with small communities.”
Stanthorpe Junior Rugby League president Lindsay Adams thanked the Queensland Country Credit Union for its kind donation.
Queensland Country Credit Union has been a supporter of many sports in Stanthorpe for a long period of time.
This support includes its most recent sponsorship of the Stanthorpe Sports Association for the production of a sports leaflet aimed at informing the community about all the sporting opportunities in Stanthorpe.
