Fire danger to increase with scorching summer temperatures
SUMMER is officially here, with scorching temperatures on their way.
Fire danger has dropped down to very high today, however is expected to spike later in the week as temperatures sore into low to mid thirties.
Dean from the Bureau of Meteorology said fire danger has eased up today and tomorrow but will spike on Thursday and Friday as temperatures increase.
“We will see the heat and those dry and gustily westerly winds return on Thursday and Friday,” he said.
“We are currently looking at severe fire danger returning on Thursday and Friday with those hotter and dryer westerly winds.
“Temperatures will also increase throughout the week – 26 degrees today, 29 degrees tomorrow, back up to 30 degrees on Thursday and up to 33 degrees on Friday.
“It should be hot over the weekend too with temperatures in the low thirty’s, maybe some cooler relief on Sunday back in the twenties,” he said.
