Fireys battling border blaze
THREE crews remain at the scene of a vegetation fire at Sugarloaf.
QFES said that a grader had been brought in to help with fire breaks.
The blaze, estimated at 5 acres, remains uncontained, but no properties are threatened a QFES spokesperson said.
SEVERAL crews are fighting back a fire at Sugarloaf that's burning across two properties.
A Queensland Fire and Emergency Services spokeswoman said three crews were currently at the site, with more on their way.
"They're trying to size it up and work out the best plan of attack,” the QFES spokeswoman said.
"It's across two properties, or two bits of adjoining land. No homes are under threat at this stage.”
Fireys were alerted to the vegetation fire at approximately 1.30pm, with the blaze burning near the Queensland and New South Wales border at Oak Drive and Clearview Road, Sugarloaf.
"Smoke may affect the area,” the QFES spokeswoman said.
"Residents are asked to close windows and doors.
"Those suffering from a respiratory condition should keep their medications close by.
"Motorists should drive with caution and to conditions.
"If residents are concerned their property is under threat they are advised to call Triple Zero (000) immediately.
