Hand-crafted goodies galore

THIS Sunday, handmade treats will return to Stanthorpe's Exhibition Centre.

Rock on up to the Stanthorpe Showgrounds and be amazed by the remarkable quality and variety of the Market in the Mountains' crafters.

They make what they sell and the pride in their work is obvious.

No matter how difficult your special person may be to buy a gift for, it is almost ensured that something special will present itself to you.

Stallholders come from all across the Southern Downs area and even northern New South Wales and have been doing so for years.

The fundraiser for this market is the Amiens State School P&C.

The P&C will be having a raffle, part of which will be drawn on the day and part drawn later at the school.

Please support them, this is a cracking little school and will celebrate its centenary very soon.

If visitors are interested, the Amiens Township Tour Guide and the Armistice Way Tour Guide will be on sale at the Tipsy Fruit stall.

These two books are locally compiled and produced and have so much of the almost forgotten history of the Pikedale Soldier Settlement for returned First World War soldiers, the headquarters of which was in Amiens.

At $20 for the two, it is a bargain.

This market is also the last 'dinkus' market before the Christmas markets.

One of the stalls will have a very small metal object placed on it and if a visitor finds this dinkus, he or she will received a $20 Market in the Mountains voucher to spend at any of the markets.

It could be a duck, a cat or a bell.

Happy hunting.

Don't forget, Karl and Janelle will provide a delicious morning tea or light lunch at the Cafe de Market.

Much of their food is organic and all tastes scrumptious.
