THEY'VE traded the glitz and the glamour of the Gold Coast for the sights and sounds of Warwick's most iconic pubs and the town's newest residents are stoked.
Benita Kelly and Lisa Marston have this week taken over the top job at the Horse and Jockey Hotel-Motel.
They said they were excited to throw themselves into the community they would now call home.
Though the pub is one of Warwick's most popular, Benita and Lisa said there was a lot of work to be done to regain its place at the top.
One thing they are planning to do is bring back live music to the pub scene.
"We want to put a focus on solos and duos but we are also looking at a massive carpark event where we fence it off, bring in a truck and put a band on it - like a Day on the Green,” she said.
"The place just needs some passion back into it, and we've got it.”
Benita said she was excited to be back on the Southern Downs, having grown up just down the road at Stanthorpe.
Getting familiar with the region's events and attractions is high on the list, with Morgan Park and Jumpers and Jazz two on their hit list.
Benita said they had already seen an influx of visitors to Morgan Park and she was keen for her own visit to the sports hub.
"We have got a lot to learn but we can't wait,” she said. Most of all, Lisa and Benita are simply looking forward to meeting the people of the Rose City.
"I love to get behind the bar, pour a drink and chat with the locals. I just love it,” Lisa said.
The H&J is open 10am-10pm Sunday to Thursday and until midnight Friday and Saturday, s extended to 2am when there is entertainment.
