FOR the third consecutive year Open Gardens will be showing off the beautiful plants and flowers the granite belt has to offer.
Event organiser Shane Dullahide said this years event will offer two new gardens along with reworks of past years favourites.
"There's a really good garden on Tyrel St," he said.
"It's a small garden, it's a very old house, over 120-years-old.
"They've done the house up for a couple of years and the last couple of years they've been doing the garden up.
"It's pretty spectacular for a small compact garden."
Returning favourites include the 5 hectare Braeside homestead, around halfway between Stanthorpe and Warick.
"Two years ago they opened their garden and they were the most popular garden," Mr Dullahide said.
"Now they've completed all the stages and the whole garden is segmented.
"There's rose gardens, scented gardens, a whole lot of avenues, water features, it's a spectacularly big garden."
Mr Dullahide said the open gardens event attracts a unique type of tourist to the Stanthorpe area.
"Because we're a temperate climate, we've got gardens you don't seen anywhere else," he said.
"I knew there was some really lovely gardens around Stanthorpe, so I thought it was a great opportunity to go open up another tourist avenue for the district."
The last open gardens event attracted over 4,000 people.
Around 60 per cent of the people who visited the gardens came outside of the Stanthorpe and Warick districts.
"I think it amazed everybody how well it was received," he said.
"I have volunteers who sit on the gates and greet people and talk to people, and I had most of those people say they'd love to do it again.
"People would rush into the gardens and when they came out of the garden they'd actually changed, they just felt so relaxed."
Tickets are $5 entry per garden at the gate.
