Southern Downs' top properties sold in 2017
THE region is not short of incredible properties and Core Logic data reveals the top 10 sold in 2017.
1. THE top-selling property on the Southern Downs in 2017 sported a price tag of $2.272million and is a familiar sight for all who have driven into Warwick from the east.
The 33-hectare property, 13123 Cunningham Highway at Womina (opposite the Puma Service Station), was sold in July after the Southern Downs Council approved a development application for a $350million solar energy development.
The transaction was through a private sale, but Elders Warwick Real Estate agent Andrew Williams said the property was "fairly unique" for Warwick.
"It's size and proximity to the highway are the two factors that sold this property and the solar farm would be in close proximity to the power grid," Mr Williams said.
Looking ahead to 2018, Mr Williams expected more large commercial sales like this with multiple developments ready to begin, including the John Dee and Grove Juice expansions.
