In the senior competition, the Garnets played some very strong netball to defeat the Emeralds 21-12. On the other court the Pearls battled it out with the Opals with the Pearls claiming the win 16-8.

Four teams travelled to Goondiwindi on Sunday for an Inter-District Carnival.

"It was a fantastic day in Goondiwindi with fantastic sunshine, thankfully mother nature waited until the end of the last game to send down the rain,” netball spokesperson Kay Knight said.

"Our four Inter District teams had a great carnival and are all in good form as we head towards the finals.

All coaches and managers can't believe the improvement in our teams as the season has progressed,” she said.

The senior team came away with one win from four against Toowoomba, Dalby, Warwick and Goondiwindi.

Stanthorpe 3 grabbed one win from four as well while Stanthorpe 4 won two and lost two.

"The girls defeated Kingaroy (13-12) and Fassifern (8-7) and played hard against slightly stronger teams Highfields and Toowoomba,” Kay said.

These young ladies do not give up when faced with stronger and more experienced teams.

Stanthorpe 2 shone in the carnival with four wins from four.

The girls played Highfields, Goondiwindi, Glennie and Toowoomba in the competition.

"The improvement in this group of young players is amazing and is testament to their strong commitment to training and teamwork,” Kay said.
