The Savoyard Singers return to Stanthorpe
STANTHORPE Regional Art Gallery welcomes back The Savoyard Singers to Music in the Gallery.
On Sunday the gallery will host a wonderfully entertaining afternoon of music.
This year the performance is entitled On the Musical Stage and they have prepared a diverse selection of songs about romance, falling in love and facing life's challenges.
The selection of music is taken from some of the best loved and most popular musicals of the 20th century and includes songs from West Side Story, Hello Dolly, Kiss me Kate and more.
The timeless music and prosaic words of Cole Porter, Rodgers and Hammerstein, Jerry Herman and others continue to entertain and delight audiences with beautiful melodies and clever lyrics.
Several members of the Savoyard Singers are seasoned Stanthorpe visitors, with mezzo soprano Mary Ewing, tenors Ross Muirhead and John Hills and bass Mark Craig returning to entertain.
They will be joined by soprano Kim Kee and all will be accompanied expertly by Jye Burton.
Artistic director Phyll Griffin has again linked story lines and themes to create a seamless program which is sure to delight.
Music in the Gallery will start at 2pm Sunday.
Entry is $10 a person.
